Description

A fine 19th-century English school oil on board depicting an Autumnal pastoral scene. The artist has captured the various shades of Autumn so beautifully in this little landscape - from the rich ochre of the tallest tree on the right-hand side through to the Earthy umber of the damp ground beneath our feet.

Signed Glendenning in the bottom right.

Medium: Oil on board

Size including frame: 16” x 10” / 41cm x 25.5cm

Year of creation: c. 1870 - c. 1900

Condition: Light craquelure and a couple of small dark marks towards the top. Later frame in excellent condition.
