Oil Painting Father with Child, and Dog Pulling Cart

A charming continental oil on canvas scene. The painting shows a father with his child. The child is having a ride on a cart pulled by a dog. It looks like they may be returning from market as the cart is full of vegetables and there is a town in the distance. The painting is typical of the paintings of France and Italy and is sadly not signed which is most often the case with this type of work. The painting has been professionally cleaned and had some minor repair. The painting is framed in a period gilt frame which may be the original, it has some old repairs and is good original condition. The whole is a very attractive work in ready to hang condition, and gives a very decorative period look. C.1850.
