Pair of Oil Paintings of the Isle of Man

A charming pair of oil paintings depicting different scenes on the Isle of Man. The pair are very capably painted in oils on canvas, one shows Bradda head and Milner tower in the distance, the other is also titled though I have been unable to read it. The two works both have a lovely dedication on the reverse as being given by the artist to 'Charles on his 21st birthday'. The pair are signed 'H.Jones' a common name and difficult to attribute but there was a H.Jones that exhibited between 1887-1893 at the Dudley Gallery and it may well be him. The pair have been professionally cleaned and are in good condition. The paintings also retain the original gilt frames which are in untouched condition and do have minor marks and scuffs giving them a great country house look. The whole are a very interesting, bright and cheerful pair of decorative paintings. C.1890.
