A charming and decorative Victorian period oil on canvas depicting a landscape by moonlight. The painting shows a typical fantasy landscape with figures by water and an island with ruined church. The scene is painted by moonlight and has a great Gothic feel to it. The work is not signed and is possibly continental. The painting has had some old repairs and is in very good condition. The work is mounted in a period gilt frame. The whole has a great period look. C.1860.
