A fine oil on canvas, head and shoulders portrait of a young lady. The work is typical of the romantic period with it’s representation of stylised beauty. The painting is not signed but is of a good provincial quality being slightly naive in proportions. The painting has been professionally cleaned and is mounted in a slightly later in date gilt frame. The gilt frame has been re-gilded at some point but is in good condition and works well with the painting. The whole is in excellent condition and ready to hang.
