Still Life Oil Painting with Fruit and Champagne

A fine oil on canvas still life painting. The painting shows a grouping of fruit with a large melon and a comport with grapes, there is a Champagne bottle in the background and a scattering of cobnuts to the fore. The quality of the painting is very good, quite impressionistic with a slight French feel but it is an English painting, sadly it is not signed. The painting has been professionally cleaned and had a small repair, there is a typical slight craqueleure. The work is mounted in a modern antiqued gilt frame. The whole ha a great period look with impressionist influences. C.1900.
