Fine Landscape Oil Painting with Windmill

A fine quality oil on canvas landscape painting. The view shows meadows full of flowers and a village with a windmill in the distance, a typical English Summer view. The painting is signed M Hider and is most likely a pseudonym of Frank Hider 1861-1933 a prolific commercial artist who painted so much that he often signed works differently. His daughter was called Mabel and is also a known artist but the signatures and style of the work are so similar I do think the majority if not all of the paintings are by Frank Hider. It was often the case with highly commercial artists that they would sign works differently so their work didn't seem to mass produced. This painting is a particularly good example of the artist's work and a very pleasant composition. The painting is mounted in a modern slip in a period Victorian gilt frame. The whole is in excellent condition and ready to hang. C.1930.
