Laglenne studied at the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs from 1916.
In Paris, he spends time with Picasso, Marcoussis, Christian Bérard.
He exhibits at the Galerie Berthe Weill with Raul Dufy, and at the Galerie Vavin Raspail. In the 1930s, one-man shows with the noted Axel, Reid & Lefebvre Gallery in London and the Galerie Jeanne Bucher follow.
Laglenne exhibits at the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon des Tuileries from 1920, at the Salon d'Automne from 1925. His work is shown alongside the great masters Georges Braque, Raoul Dufy, André Derain and Marc Chagall at the Nancy Modern Art Exhibition of 1926.
Paintings by the artist are now in the Centre George Pompidou/Paris, in numerous provincial museums (Grenoble, Rouen, Roubaix), as well as in the Museums of Zurich and Charlottesville/USA.
The oil on canvas here on offer measures 55 x 46 cm. It is signed at the lower right and titled: L'arc de ciel (the Rainbow) on the verso. The over size including frame is 64 x 55cm.
