Still Life Oil Painting of Flowers by Clemence Biron

A fine and beautiful oil on card still life of a vase of flowers. The painting is wonderfully impressionistic with a great use of bold colour. The work is signed C.P.Biron for Clemence Biron a Belgium artist known as a painter of still life and landscapes, Biron was born in Valenciennes, France in 1889. Biron trained at the Academy of Brussels where he studied under the guidance of Herman Richir, the famed portrait and figure painter. Graduating in 1915, Clemence Biron established himself as a professional painter working in an Impressionist manner, excelling in the use of colour. Paintings by Clemence Biron can be seen in the museum of Namur in Belgium.

The painting has been professionally cleaned and is framed in a slightly earlier Victorian gilt frame. The whole is a little gem of a painting and is ready to hang. C.1930.
