A fine oil on canvas depicting dogs out on a moorland landscape presumably hunting. The dogs which must be pointers or hounds are searching the heather for game, perhaps grouse. The paintings is very finely done there is a great detail to the dogs and the landscape is a fine painting in it’s own right. The whole has a distinct feeling of English Impressionism about it with the use of thick impasto paint, and is signed to the lower right but the signature is just slightly illegible. The painting has been professionally cleaned and retains it’s original art deco period gilt frame.
