An poetic waterscape from the mid 20th century with a touch of abstraction that makes it particularly interesting. Painted on artist's board by Paris artist's suppliers Dupré&Cie, it is unsigned, but dedicated "Pour Jean, 1956" on the verso.

Backing board was added to the slim oak frame to facilitate hanging.
