Portrait of a young lady, half length, wearing her hair in ringlets,as was the fashion for this period. oil on canvas housed in gilt frame.
The size being 98 cm x 86 cm (38.5'' x 33.5''including frame). the painting is 72 cm x 59 cm.(28.5'' x 23.5'')
The portrait has had some restoration including a very small patch top left hand side, some overpainting etc. The restoration process has thinned the centre of the canvas somewhat however this is not apparent when hung. The small repair/restoration to puncture mark can be seen in certain lights but does not detract from a fine portrait
The portrait has been cleaned and varnished recently none of this detracts from this delightful portrait.
The frame is in good country house condition with some minor losses, minor wear throughout none of this attracts from this delightful portrait.
