Pair of Oil Paintings by David Hewitt

A fine and decorative pair of oil on canvas landscape paintings by David Hewitt. The scenes show contrasting views one in a bright sun of the day and the other at dawn with the sun rising over the mountains. The painting is typically light and soft of touch like to so much Edwardian landscape art. The two are both signed D.Hewitt for David Hewitt who exhibited 1902-12 mostly in Liverpool but also at the Royal Academy in London, he lived in North Wales and this is most likely where these were painted. The pair retain the original superb gilt frames in great untouched condition. A fine pair of paintings with a great decorative impact. C.1910.
