Description

This is a fine original oil painting on ivory depicting a Military Officer in his smart red tunic or redcoat dating from around 1850. The sitter has been expertly captured by the artist with fine and exquisite detail to the work and this is in excellent original condition with superb clarity and great depth of colour. The painting is framed in its original ornate gilt and gesso frame which retains its original gilding.

The frame measures by 28 cms by 26 cms.

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.

You are most welcome to visit the shop but please always check to confirm we are open before travelling.
