Title: "Farmyard Scene". Boy resting by a barn with work horses and a dog.

Artist: James William Cole. (Active 1830-1889).

Signed and dated 1870. Inscribed on E. Stacey Marks label on the reverse with title, artist's name and address.

Oil on canvas. Framed.

Size: 20"x 24". Framed size: 26 1/2"x 30 1/2".

In very good ready to hang condition. Free UK delivery.

A wonderful and charming Victorian rural farming painting.

James William Cole was a London painter of domestic and rural subjects (such as this one) and animals.

He exhibited 63 works at The Royal Academy, Birmingham Institute, The Royal Society of British Artists, Suffolk Street, New Watercolour Society, and at The International Exhibition of 1862.
