A very charming oil on canvas painting of a horse, typical of naive folk art of the late Victorian period. The painting is exactly as one would expect a Victorian horse portrait to be but as it is obviously by a amateur artist the horse is slightly out of proportion and has wonderful large eyes, this is all part of the charm of naive country artwork. The painting typically is not signed and it has been mounted in a wonderful earlier bur maple frame. The whole is ready to hang and has a great rural decorative charm about it.
