A really charming oil on canvas painting of apples, almost certainly taken from a botanical illustration. The work is very competently done with beautiful detail and I particularly like the bee. The work is not signed on the front but is on the canvas on the reverse with: Nellie Lane. There was a Miss N.A.Lane working and exhibiting in Nottingham between 1910-12 and it is very likely that this is the artist. The work has been professionally cleaned and a couple of small holes repaired. The painting is framed in a slightly earlier superb Victorian gilt frame. The whole is ready to hang and has the most charming cottage appeal.
