Fine Oil Painting 'The Connoisseur' by a Ribas

A superb quality oil on wooden panel depicting a gentleman in Georgian historical dress examining a large oriental vase. The painting is technically wonderful from the detail of the man to the loose almost abstract work of the tapestries in the back ground. The work is signed: A.Ribas, there are several artists of Spanish original working in the early twentieth century with this name, all of which are capable desirable artists. The painting has been professionally cleaned and is mounted in a modern bespoke gilt frame. The painting is ready to hang and dates to C.1900.
