A unique chance to own TWO original, authenticated drawings by Raoul Dufy (1877-1953) - at a three figure sum!

I think I need not introduce the artist, who is arguably one of the most important important figures in 20th Century French painting.

The subject of the works presented here is lovely, and topical: horses and riders, and spectators in top hats and morning suits at Ascot!

The first of the two is an ink drawing. It is situated Ascot and dated Juin 31 at the upper left, and measures at sight.12,5 x 19,5 cm

The second is in graphite. It is dated 1930 and has colour annotations, such as "vert tendre" (soft green) and "noir velours" (velvet black). This indicates that it is a study for a major work in colour, an oil or a watercolour. It measures 10 x 14,5 cm.

The two drawings are presented in one same frame, which measures 40,5 x 33,5 cm.

Similar works by Raoul Dufy figure in the collection of the Centre Pompidou/Musée National d'Art Moderne in Paris. Please let meknow if you would like me to send you links to the images of these.

Neither of the two drawings is signed, as they were not created to be sold. They have been inspected de visu by Madame Fanny Guillon-Laffaille, the official expert and authority on Raoul Dufy, at her gallery in Paris. Madame Guillon-Laffaille is the author of the catalogue raisonné of Raoul Dufy's work, and has has declared our drawings unequivocally authentic.

The expert does issue certificates of authenticity, for the fee of 500 Euros per drawing. As this is a substantial amount which would double the price of the artworks, I have not requested this, but would be happy to do so at cost for the buyer on request.
