He studied at the Royal College in Kensington.He was a successful artist for most of his life-time.He had two signatures ,his early work was signed in upper case and lower case letters followed by A.R.C.A.His later ,generally more detailed work ,was signed in upper case letters without ARCA.His subjects were mainly landscapes which included English,Continental and African views; occasionally he produced still life subjects which are considered amongst the most collected of his works.’Peonies in a Bowl’ signed watercolour; image size 34x25cms,overall framed size 44 x 36cms; original veneered wooden frame.
