As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this quite magnificent study of a Silvered Bronze and mixed metal Sea Eagle upon a naturalistic root wood base , the well recorded Meiji period Bird artist Hidenao has sculpted the Eagle in fantastic lifelike detail, the bird has landed upon a gnarled wood branch and is captured just about to take flight, possibly towards its prey, the high quality silvered bronze feather detailing is indicative of this artists work , the legs have been gilded and the Talons finished in a gorgeous greyish black shakudo , the beak and eyes also finished in Shakudo and Gilt mixed metal detail , the artist has signed the bird in an oblong cartouche beneath the tail feathers ,the shaped and polished naturalistic wood stand is a joy and serves to give this majestic Bird the lift it deserves, a wonderful and very impressive Okimono for your Japanese collection.
