A superb French oil on canvas portrait of a young lady. The portrait is just typical of Belle Epoque painting with a wispy, ethereal nature, the girl dressed in a soft pink dress and looking with head tilted out of the painting. The work is signed and dated to the lower left the signature I have been unable to identify and may well be the name of the sitter, the date is 1888. The painting has been professionally cleaned and two very small holes repaired. The work is mounted in an English period gilt frame and the whole is in excellent ready to hang condition.
