Interesting and decorative oil on board still life of an artist''s studio and equipment. The work shows the paints, brushes etc of the artist''s studio, with rather unusually in the centre an ancient Egyptian ushabti blue faience figure, probably added to compliment the blue tones of the composition. The work is signed B. Coape-Arnold who lived and worked in Nottingham and exhibited at the Castle gallery, indeed the label on the reverse is likely from one of these exhibitions. The painting shows a huge amount of ability with a great use of colour and bold brushwork. The painting is mounted in a modern bespoke painted frame and the whole is in very good condition.
