Description

A lovely farmhouse kitchen painting by Albert BERGEVIN (France 1887-1974)

This still life with Cabbage and Bread, is signed by Bergevin and dated 1952 at the lower left.

Titled "pain et choux" on the stretcher, this would make a great gift for a chef!

An oil on paper mounted on to canvas, it measures 43 x 75 cm (that is the size of the painting alone - the overall size including the frame is about 57 x 89 cm).

Originally from Avranches in Normandy, Bergevin exhibited in Paris at the Salon d’Automne and the Salon des Indépendants. His art nouveau poster “Avranches Baie Mont St Michel” (to encourage tourism in the region) is highly prized at poster auctions all over the world and widely reproduced.
