Leopold PASCAL (1900-1957)

Anemones, Oil on canvas, signed lower right. The painting measures 38 x 46 cm. Overall size measured with a more rencent, simple silver mount is approx. 44 x 52 cm.

Born in Brittany and having started his artistic career in Paris, Leopold Pascal came to England at the beginning of World War II. After wartime military service, he settled in Chelsea, where he was one of the founder members of the respected group known as 'The Artists of Chelsea'.

In the UK, paintings by the artist can be found in the National Maritime Museum, Cornwall, the National Museum of Wales, and the Museum of Glasgow.
