Art Deco Period Still Life Oil Painting of Flowers

A stunning oil on canvas still life oil painting of anemones on a chinese stand by Barbara Johnson. Johnson exhibited between 1897-1993 was a specialist flower painter and exhibited widely including three times at the Royal Academy. The work has an elegant simplicitiy about it while being also technically beautiful, I particularly like the reflection in the polished surface. The painting has all the style and flare of the Art Deco. The painting has been professionally cleaned and minor restoration. The work is framed in the original silvered frame which has a great slightly worn look. The whole is stylish, simple and elegant and ready to hang. C.1920.
