Superb Small Pair of Watercolour Portraits

A stunning pair of early Victorian watercolour portraits. The portrairs show two very beautiful young women and almost certainly are taken from more famous works, it was typical of the period for famous paintings to be copied. The pair are mounted in the original superb quality gilt frames which have the original water gilding and are in amazing untouched condition, just some very minor repairs. The paintings are not signed which is typical of this type of painting but both are in excellent condition with bright fresh colours. C.1850.
