Fine Oil Painting of a Horse by M.adams

A very good quality horse portrait oil. The painting is typical of the work of traveling artists that specialised in painting local landowner's favourite animals. The work shows a beautifully painted horse in stable setting. The painting is in excellent condition having been professionally cleaned. The work is signed but I have been unable to identify the artist, there were many talented people painting these works and as they often did not exhibit they are not recorded. The painting is mounted in a nineteenth century faux rosewood frame. The whole is in excellent condition and ready to hang. The painting is a great example of it's type and gives a wonderful country house look. C.1900.
