Description

Artist: Robert Jobling. (Staithes Group Artist). (1841-1923).

Title: " Awaiting the Fishermen's Return".

Signed. Circa 1900.

Oil on canvas laid down on board.

Size: 14"x 10". Framed size: 21 3/4"x 17 3/4".

Now cleaned and framed. In very good ready to hang condition. Free UK delivery.

Robert Jobling first had work accepted by both the Royal Academy and Royal Society of Artists in 1883. He painted regularly at Cullercoats befiore switching his allegiance to Staithes. He found the artistic atmosphere at Staithes very stimulating, and as one of the older members of the Staithes Group held a position of some standing. The majority of Jobling’s artistic exposure was in the local Northern Exhibitions.
