Dutch Oil Painting After Teniers

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Prometheus Antiques

A fine oil on canvas laid to board painting after the Dutch Golden age painter Teniers. The painting shows an interior scene of a blacksmith''s forge with the blacksmith sharpening the sickle blades of two pretty harvest girls. The painting is of a very high quality and detail but sadly is not signed as is so often the case with this type of work. The painting has been cleaned and had some minor professional restoration. The painting is mounted in a period gilt frame which has been later gilded and had some minor repair. The whole is in excellent ready to hang condition. This is a very good example of it''s type and gives a great period look. C.1850.
