A Fine Pair of Oil Paintings of Horses by W. Wasdell Trickett

A fine pair of oil on canvas horse portraits by W. Wasdell Trickett. The pair show the horses in landscape settings and each is named, one 'Night Auk II' the other 'Snowball. The paintings are both signed and dated: 'W. Wasdell Tricket 1927'. Kate Wasdell Trickett was a specialist sporting artist and her works are quite well known and sort after, she exhibited between 1895-1921 in Birmingham, Liverpool and once at the Royal Academy in London. The paintings have been professionally cleaned and minor repairs made and are in excellent condition. The pair are framed in a large and dramatic pair of period frames and have been mounted with a new slip. The frames have had some restoration and later gilding and do have some marks. The pair make an very dramatic decorative statement and have a great country house look and are ready to hang.
