A charming miniature oil on board painting of a terrier curled up and fast asleep. The painting is obviously quite a quick sketch but it has been done with such confidence and has captured the scene perfectly. The pianting is signed to the lower right and I think it might be ''C.Read'' but I have been unable to identify the artist. The pianting has been mounted in an Italian carved gilt wood frame and the whole works very well. The painting has been professionally cleaned and is in excellent condition. The frame has had some old repair. The whole has a lovely country house look about it.
