A fine quality and highly decorative oil on canvas portrait of a gentleman. The painting shows a gentleman in finery of the late Regency period with suit and high collar. The painting is however not signed but must have been painted by a known portrait artist as it is painted on a London canvas by ''C.Davy''. The painting has been professionally cleaned. The painting is mounted in the original superb quality gilt and swept frame, this has had some light restoration which has been done to keep the untouched country house look with original gilding. The whole has a great English country house look and has a superb stately look. C.1830.
