Description

This is a beautiful set of Chinese watercolour paintings on pith of exotic birds in lush landscapes which date from the 19th century. The paintings are very finely executed in vibrant colours and show the birds in their natural enviroment. There are five paintings to the set and they are generally in excellent condition with only a couple of very minor breaks to the pith, except for one which has a narrow split (see image 6).

They look very smart in their original blue silk mounts and black timber frames and each one measures 37 cms by 23 cms including the frame.
