Size of painting is 42 x 70 cm (16 x 27 in ) whilst overall with frame is 56 x 84 cm ( 22 x 33 inches )
Provenance: Rovie Lodge, Rogart, Sutherland
The overall condition of the painting is excellent having had some minor restoration overpainting. The painting

is housed in a gilt frame which is also in good condition
Late 19th early 20th century in date,signed bottom right.
Edgar Bundy, ARA (British, 1862-1922)
Bundy specialised in historical paintings . His work was usually in a very detailed style. He exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1915 and at the Paris Salon in 1907. In the Tate Gallery is his Royal Academy painting of 1905 entitled The Morning of Sedgemoor depicting the Duke of Monmouth's rebels resting in a barn before the battle.

Bundy was influenced by Pre-Raphaelites such as John Millais, William Morris and John Ruskin.
