Herbert Dicksee "The Old Hound" Artist's Etching

Description

"The Old Hound" is an original etching by Herbert Dicksee. It is the Artist's Proof on Vellum, the only edition of this lovely old etching, and is listed as "Scarce, plate destroyed" in the Dicksee catalogue. The circular image measures about 15" without the margins which are mounted over with a cut out for the pencil "Herbert Dicksee " artist's signature. It was published in 1912 by Frost & Reed Ltd. and measures 26"x 24" overall including the old oak frame. There is an old label on the reverse showing the title and artist.
