Adrian Jones, Oil Painting of the Horse "Golden Eye"

Description

Adrian Jones (1845-1938) was a sculptor, painter and veterinary officer in the army for 23 years. He lived in London and exhibited between 1884 and 1935 at the Royal Academy (34 times), Liverpool (14), Glasgow (7) and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters (9 times). "Golden Eye" is an accomplished study of a horse in a landscape. It measures 16"x 20", is signed lower right and dated 1895. It is inscribed "Golden Eye" on an old label for Chapman Brothers on the reverse. It is framed in a good modern gilt swept frame giving an overall size of 24"x 28".
