A very interesting pair of St Ives, Cornwall paintings. The pair show scenes in St Ives and are painted in oils on canvas. The canvases are by James Lanham, a central figure in the establishment of St Ives as an artist''s community, with a gallery and artist''s materials shop. The pair are not signed but do have an initial on the reverse in pencil that might indicate the artist. The pair are in excellent condition having been professionally cleaned and a tiny hole in one repaired. The pair are mounted in the original ebonised frames and the whole are in excellent condition. C.1900.
