John Atkinson "A Horse Fair" Watercolour

Description

"A Horse Fair" is a wonderful example of the work of the Newcastle born painter John Atkinson (1863-1924). The watercolour measures 19"x 24", is signed lower left, and has been newly mounted back into the original gilt swept frame giving an overall size of 27"x 32". There is the original label on the back for "The Laing Art Gallery and Museum" showing the picture was exhibited at the "Exhibition of Works by Artists of the Northern Counties" with title "A Horse Fair" and the artist's address at "Glaisdale, Grosmont" and a price of 15gns.
