Woodland Scene Oil Painting by H.barnett

A lovely oil on board by Nottingham artist H.Barnett. The painting shows the most delightful spring scene of a woodland clearing with bluebells. H.Barnett is a little know Nottingham artist who exhibited entirely at the Nottingham castle galleries. He seems to have been part of a group of Nottingham artist's that worked in an impressionist style plein air. The painting is signed and date 1925 and has been professionally cleaned. The painting is mounted in a superb quality Victorian period gilt frame that works very well with it. The whole is in excellent condition, a delightful item with a huge decorative appeal and a lovely warmth.
