Superb Still Life Oil of Flowers

A wonderful quality oil on canvas depicting a typical still life of flowers in a vase on a stone table. The flowers are superbly painted in the manner of the great Dutch still lives. The work has a faded elegance about it heightened by the grey stone vase and table. The work is signed but sadly illegible, however the painting itself speaks for the quality of the artist thoughout. The painting did have an exhibition label on the back but sadly that has gone but again hints at the level of the work. The painting has been professionally cleaned and a tiny hole repaired. The work is mounted in a period Edwardian frame that has had some repair and restoration and is a little faded and worn but it is very in keeping with the feel of the painting and the great country house look it gives. C.1900.
