A interesting oil on canvas still life depicting a glas3 vase full of wild white roses. The work is painted in very earthy tones and this heightens the white of the roses in an interesting way. The work is signed ''Fantin'' this is obviously not the famous Fantin Latour but another French artist working in his oeuvre. The painting is mounted in the original gilt frame which has been later gilded and the painting has been professionally cleaned. The reverse of the painting retains a Christies label indicating that it has been through the famous auction house. The whole is in great condition and has a wonderful french country look.
