A decorative late Victorian period oil painting on canvas depicting a Scottish landscape and titled ''The river Tay at Aberfeldy. The work is typical of late Victorian landscape painting with a central feature of the river and hills and mountains in the background, there can even be seen the cattle coming down to the river to drink. The work is particularly nice because it is so bright and sunny, and the work is very competently done. The painting is sign: Sidney Walton, but I can find no record of him, he may have been a talented amateur. The painting is mounted in a superb Victorian, later re-gilt frame and the whole has a great period look. The painting has been professionally cleaned and both painting and frame are in great condition.
