Pair Of Irish Regency Satirical Prints After Gillray

A very interesting pair of prints entitled ''Wide awake and ''Fast asleep''. The prints which are hand coloured are taken from a pair created by James Gillray and published in 1806 but these are copies made by an Irish publisher in Dublin called Sidebotham who copied them illegally. The pair are mounted in the original good quality nineteenth century frames and the prints are in excellent condition. C.1810.
