Alice and the March Hare 19th Century Oil Painting

Description

This is an unusual and charming depiction of Alice and her adventures in Wonderland which was painted around 1860. Alice is seated in field of hay upon a rug, eating something from a bowl and alongside her is the March hare. The oil painting is set within a gilded frame slip so this has at one time had an outer substantial frame around it however the it looks very pleasing as it is and the whole piece has great charm. The oil painting is in on canvas and is in good condition and measures 46 cms by 39 cms overall.

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.
