A lovely oil on board painting of a lady in landscape at twilight. The painting appears to tell the story of a lady leaving her village to travel at twilight and she is just looking back longingly toward home. The painting is unsigned but does have a label on the reverse giving an idea of the title and perhaps an artist name.
The painting is in the original gilt swept frame which has been regilded at some point. The whole is in very good condition. C.1850.
