Interesting Pair of Dutch Pastels

A very interesting and decorative pair of Dutch pastel drawings with an interesting history. The two scenes show Kortenhoef and Giethoorn in the Netherlands and are signed by the artist A. Vermeulen. I have been unable to find A. Vermeulen but there have been many artists with that surname in Holland. The pair both have lenghty descriptions on the reverse in Dutch, and there is also a label stating that:

'These pastels were bought whilst mine sweeping operations were being carried out to open the ports of Rotterdam and Amsterdam 1944. Second in command of operations Lt/Commander E.R.Dalby R.N.R'

The pastels are mounted in the original frames and the whole are in excellent condition, very decorative and extremely interesting.
