Albert Ernest Corrin Charcoal, Isle of Man

Description

An absolutely stunning large charcoal picture of Port Jack, Onchan, by Albert Ernest Corrin, circa 1900-1910.

The artist, Albert Ernest Corrin is not widely recorded however believed to have been born on the Isle of Man in 1875. He lived in Onchan, married and had one daughter at the turn of the century.

I see a striking resemblance in this piece to the works by the renowned artist, John Holland. It could be that Albert Corrin was influenced by the works of John Holland and that they painted together.

This beautifully executed example of late 19th/early 20th century Manx art ans is offered for sale in the original frame and in excellent condition throughout.
