Description

Artist: Miss Grace H. Hastie. A.S.W.A., S.W.A. (1839-1927).

Title: "Apple Blossom".

Signed and dated 1879. Inscribed with title and artist's name and address on old label on the reverse of the painting.

Watercolour and gouache.

Size: 13"x 9". Framed size: 18 3/4"x 14 3/4".

An absolutely superb quality still life.

In very good ready to hang condition. Free UK delivery.

Grace Hastie was born in London And lived there all her life.

She was made an Associate member of the Society of Women Artists in 1880, and was made a full member in 1889. Apart from exhibiting 253 times to the Society of Women Artists, she also exhibited at many other important Galleries including the Royal Society of Artists, Birmingham, Dudley Gallery, Grosvenor Gallery, Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, Walker Gallery, Liverpool, London Salon, Manchester City Art Gallery, New Gallery, The Royal Academy, Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Hibernian Academy, The Royal Institute and The Royal Scottish Academy. Almost 450 times in all, plus all her private commissions!
