Fine Armorial Oil Painting

A really lovely example of an early nineteenth century painted armorial. The armorial is on very good quality artist's board and shows a central shield surround by fabric and foliage swags. The central shield has an ermine bottom and an unusual IOI top. The family shield above shows a claw holding a shield. The work is mounted in a period maple frame, quite to the edge of the painting as not to obscure it so some edges can be seen. The whole is in very good condition. C.1820.
